Michele Peterson Bio

I am the Visual Arts teacher at Mount Pleasant Middle School and I teach the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade art classes. These classes are one quarter in length. I thoroughly enjoy working with my students and they are my most important reason for teaching. I am committed to my students and making sure the Arts programs, K—12, offer challenging courses that promote initiative, critical thinking, problem solving, exposure to diverse groups and cultures and creativity.

In 1992, I graduated from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, IA with an art major and teaching endorsement. I began teaching that fall at Indian Creek Elementary in the Linn-Mar District in Marion, IA. I have been teaching at Mt. Pleasant Middle School since the fall of 1994. In the summer of 2010, I received my Masters of Arts in Education from Viterbo University in La Crosse, WI.
