Adam Creager Bio

Hello and welcome!! The Mt. Pleasant 7-8th grade band meets every day for 38 minutes from 8:00-8:38. We begin the year as a marching band and move to concert band in late October. We also have an auditioned jazz band and color guard. I also give lessons to all 7-8th grade band students during the school day. I believe in providing all students the opportunity to be involved in band and the joy of making music. I believe music helps to develop the whole person and can be a lasting life skill. Whether singing, playing, or simply appreciating, music enriches each student’s life, brain, and soul. I am extremely proud of the long standing tradition of excellence in the Mt. Pleasant Music Department and hope to maintain and build upon that every year with students.

I am a 2005 graduate of Iowa Wesleyan College in Mt. Pleasant where I earned my Bachelor's in Music Education. In 2014 I graduated with my Masters in Music and Instrumental Conducting from the American Band College of Sam Houstan State University. Prior to teaching in Mt. Pleasant, I worked in the Eddyville-Blakesburg Community School District where I taught 9-12 choir, assisted with 9-12 marching and jazz band, and directed the 6th grade band.

My wife Mindy and I live in Mt. Pleasant with our two dogs, Quiggley and Hollie. We enjoy walking, cooking, reading, and travel.
