Kaila Smith Bio

Hello, my name is Kaila Smith. I am a 7th and 8th grade Math Teacher at the Mt. Pleasant Middle School.

 

After graduating from Mount Pleasant CSD in 2006, I attended Iowa State University where I received a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with endorsements in Middle School and Mathematics. I received my Masters degree in Special Education in the Spring of 2014 from Morningside College.

 

My husband and I just had our first child in June 2014 and have loved watching her grow and change throughout the summer! I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, going on walks with my dog, traveling and going to watch the St. Louis Cardinals.

 

This will be my 5th year teaching in the Mt. Pleasant school district. I taught Special Education at the high school my first year and have been at the Middle School teaching Special Education with a concentration in the area of math for the last 3 years. I look forward to teaching math this year and working with my students!
